Mixed Series: The Life and Times of Gray [2]

"Remember, this coming month will be the school's annual thanksgiving festival. There will be various activities to be taken care of and organized and everything should be clean and smooth by the end of the week. I expect a hundred percent cooperation from ALL the class officers of every level. Understood?"

I thought that the moment I stepped in that room I would be able to seat comfortably beside my dearest Yonekura-san but I thought too soon. As expected from the president of the student body, I'd be the one delivering all the agenda. I'm used to public speaking and it's no sweat for me. I always wanted to look very professional but Yonekura's glimmering beauty restricts me from looking at any other person in the room. I just hope that they wouldn't notice my favoritsm.

I forked over and continued with a serious glare, "Any questions?"
There was silence in the room as I was standing in the middle podium. I was about to end the meeting until a girl from I assume from a lower year raised her hand. My eyebrows raised and immediately entertained her question, "Yes, anything you didn't understand?" I asked politely

"Yes actually there is Mitsuru-san. I don't understand a thing you said" she alleged
"Eh" I thought again I coughed a bit and continued on, "May I ask, why have you not understood a word I said?"
"Because I was so distracted by your dashing charm!!!!" she squealed.
I jolted from where I was standing at the same time trying to remain my composure. As the girl squealed the rest of the female officers in the room followed as well except for Yonekura-san. She just smiled and seemingly nodded as if she agreed wholeheartedly with the statement but ofcourse that's just my hopeless assumption. I blushed a bit as I faced down and fixed my glasses.
"Ahem. Please settle down. I believe that this is a formal matter and no time is to be wasted with mere tomfoolery." I contended with a grim tone. Everybody seemed to notice a daunting aura coming from my voice and kept quiet, I remained to be staid and furthered my statement, "Well then. If there isn't anymore senseless questions. Meeting adjourned" I declared and picked up the clip board and left as their eyes followed my steps outside.

The rest of the student officers left the room and apologized to me on their way out. I smiled and simply accepted their apology. I didn't want to be a cold hearted person anyway. It isn't me.
The moment that I saw Yonekura-san head out I walked infront of her and smiled. Having a huge gap between us, she titled her head and looked up at me with a smile.

"How do you do it?" she asks
"Huh...do what?"
"You always manage to make an outrageous situation to calm down. I'm really impressed"
I snickered. I felt very flattered especially from a butter up coming from my beloved Yonekura-san. I felt my face being all flushed and it was kinda embarrasing so I broke the awkwardness I was feeling with a joke
"It all comes from my gallant charm, can't you tell?"
She laughed sarcastically and pinched my cheek, "Don't try to act all bad boy. It doesn't suit you" and with that statement she turned away and headed down the stairs.
I paused and just stood there as I touched my cheek, that was the first time we had a really close physical contact and I couldn't help but be happy about it. I know. It's lame.

"Gray-san! Hurry up!" she called out
I snapped out from my day dream and ran to her "Coming!"

[to be continued]
